Couldn't of said it better...

So, those of you who know me best know that I love singer/songwritier P!nk. She's edgy, pushy, funny... I love those characteristics in someone. I've been a fan of hers forever, since her music came out. I love all her CD's and songs, even the inappropriate ones. I can't help myself... I love how honest she is. Plus, her voice is amazing.

Today, on People.com they were referencing an article written about her on Redbook this month.  I couldn't help but LOVE her quotes and I had to share!

"A 'girl like me' is someone who doesn't rest on her looks, who has had people tell me from day one, 'You're never going to get magazine covers because you are not pretty enough.' I'm totally comfortable with that,"

"I know my strong points: I work hard, I have talent, I’m funny and I’m a good person."

"Beautiful has never been my goal," she says. "Joy is my goal – to feel healthy and strong and powerful and useful and engaged and intelligent and in love. It’s about joy. And there's such joy now."

One way that Pink feels beautiful? "When I'm sitting on a mat and my daughter runs to me with complete joy," she says.

The first night after delivering Willow, Pink adds, a nurse in the hospital spent time
helping her adapt to life with a newborn. "We sat up and talked all night with my baby in my arms, and it was like my whole life made sense, for the first time, ever."
I loved this!!! Now... I think I'll plug in my iPod and listen to some of her awesome music!

So MUCH to Share!

I FINALLY got this dang blogger to work! It wouldn't upload photos for the longest time. I guess I got lucky today!

I have so much to share so I hope you came ready to read and look at some adorable photos!

This year Christmas was so much fun. I have to say, I thought for sure Jake would be tearing open those gifts like no other but I was WRONG! The kid didn't know what was going on other than the fact that he was getting some AWESOME toys. He was oblivious to the idea that Santa slaved over wrapping those presents.  Ha!  This year, we had Christmas in our own little home.  It was so nice to hang out and do our own thing. I think we actually stopped in the middle of unwrapping gifts and took a nap. Amazing, right?!

This is an ornament Jake's daycare made for us.  It has his little handprint.  I love it and can't wait to put it up next year! That's what Christmas is all about, right? Memories and traditions, watching your kids grow and progress each year.
BTW.. I feel like referencing Jake's "daycare" is so impersonal. Jake goes to an in-home daycare with six other kiddos.  He is taken care of by one of the sweetest ladies I know, Darelen.  Her and her family have become extended family for us and little Jake. She has been a HUGE blessing to us and I literally adore her. So "daycare" is a bit of an understatement... Maybe we'll start calling "daycare" Auntie Darlene's. Ha ha!!!

One of the fun traditions we started this year was going to breakfast Christmas Eve morning with my brother-in-law Kirk and his family.  We had so much fun. Favorite memories of this year's Christmas Eve Breakfast:  Dave's dad arguing about a tip, Dave's dad feeding Jake water from a spoon and my adorable nieces and nephew drinking licking from their hot chocolate. Great times!

A few weeks ago I took this awesome photo. I posted it on Facebook and said:  I'm OBSESSED with this photo! That's literally an understatement.  These two guys are my life. All my love and blessings are wrapped up tight in this one photo.

Here are the photos of Dave's parent's mission home-coming.  This was the first time they met Jake and Chad ( my sweet little nephew). It was awesome to see them! I think the photos speak for themselves.  It was a great Davenport family memory.  I am so proud of my in-law's. They're such wonderful people who have so many great talents. I love having them back too.  Not only are they WONDERFUL babysitters, but I missed thier company. It's fun to see them and they spoil each of us. We love them so much!

Waiting for Grandma and Grandpa!

Jake is looking in the mirror... go figure! Ha!

First time meeting grandma!

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas from the Davenports!

My Stinker is 1!

My sweet little baby just turned one! This year went by so fast! I am amazed how fast he's grown and how smart he is. I love him so much!!!

We had his birthday's party at his grandma's house. It was a fun event. My mom made a Jake and the Neverland Pirate cake and we had a cupcake buffet. We made great memories!

Jake had his 1 year doctor's appointment on the 18th.  He is STILL in the 98% for height and weight. His dad took him to the doctor and when I got home, I noticed something interesting... can you see it? ... (and it is not the crumbs!)  You can count on dad ruining your street cred! Ha ha !!!

Happy birthday to my adorable, silly, spazzy, likes to turn off the direct TV box little boy! We love you to the moon and back!

Better Late Than Never!

It's only December and I'm posting Halloween photos... I'm only a month late! No big deal, right?!

Halloween was so much fun this year!  Jake was Popeye for Halloween. I made the costume myself (of course with the help of my mom).  We all had a great time.

My nephews and nieces met Jake at my work and they did trick or treating around the office. It was so fun!  Jake ended up with a lot of candy... none of which he ate himself. The dentist is thanking little Jakey for the business Dave and I are providing! Ha!

After trick or treating in the office, Dave and I took Jake down Warm Springs to go trick or treating this year. The houses are beautiful and we had such a great time!  At the end of the evening, Jake fell asleep in his stroller.  The memory was priceless!

Jakey's Nursery

I spent months getting Jake's bedding ready and I can't believe I haven't shared any photos. I wanted to do an outer space theme.  It's not done, but it's getting there!

I made all the bedding, the chevron quilt and all the pillows on the chair.  We also printed Jake's six month photos with the puppies and put it on a foam board.

The orange and yellow chevron board says:  "I love you to the moon and back, to infinity and beyond and forever and ever."

Fall is HERE!!!

Finally... Fall is here! I was dying with all that hot weather.  I usually love summer, but this year... ugh... it was too hot for me!

Well... we're finally all moved in to our new apartment. My mother and father-in-law are home from their mission.  They met Jake for the first time and it was a blessed event. I'll post photos this weekend!

I just wanted to pop in and share my new favorite photo of my cutie-Pie Jake! He's getting so big!

His hair looks red in this photo... it's not red though. It's kind of a non color. It is blond sometimes, brown sometimes... and obviously red sometimes.  I don't think it wants to commit... Oh.. he's just like his dad! Ha!
As for what we've got going on... well, it's picture season, so we're usually spending our Saturdays taking photos.  We are going to fulfill this little fall bucket list though! It should be a great month!

P.S.  Jake is going to be Popeye for Halloween!
